How
familiar are you with the Windows registry and what it does for your
computer? You might have heard that the registry can cause a
lot of different problems on our computer but did you realize that it
is responsible for almost every operation that our PC makes?
Whenever we are downloading things off of the Internet, changing files,
opening and closing programs or installing and uninstalling programs,
the computer registry is being written to or having information taken
away from it. Over the course of time, a number of different
problems can creep into the Windows registry which will cause us a lot
of frustration.
There are several different things that can happen to our Windows
registry which will show up as errors on our computer.
Duplicate lines of code is one of the more common things that can
happen but it may also have missing lines or leftover information after
something was removed from our computer. Even viruses and
spyware tend to write things to our Windows registry and hide out in
this area of our computer in one way or another. The only way
that you are going to find out if your Windows registry is clean or not
is to run a comprehensive Windows Registry scan.
A registry scan can be done rather simply and believe it or not, the
scanning software that is available on the Internet is free.
All that you have to do is to download the file and open it up in order
for the scan to begin. The entire process really doesn't take
all that much time and you will be given a list of any errors that it
finds within your Windows registry after it completes. This
is one of the most trouble-free things that I have found as far as
automated PC repair is concerned. Of course, they're all are
some telltale signs that will alert you to problems which may be
occurring within the registry, even before the scan is performed.
One of the most common problems that occurs as a result of Windows
registry errors is slow computer performance. Even though
there are a lot of things which cause the computer to slow down,
including usual wear and tear, the Windows registry can grind it to a
halt. Not only that, you may be experiencing computer
freezes, computer crashes or random error messages that seem to come
out of nowhere. Even your hardware may be affected to a
certain extent by the Windows registry.
Once all of the errors are identified, you can begin repairing them
with the use of the same program. Although it is not going to
be free for you to repair the errors that are in your registry, the
only other alternative that you have is to go in and fix them
yourself. Unless you can read the encoded language of the
Windows registry, you are better just to stay out of it
altogether. The repair will only take a short time and it
will be worth it all whenever your computer comes back to life and run
smoothly again.
